There are many fine …
There are many fine musicians, singers and songwriters out now. But I get the feeling the industry isn’t allowing them to produce the kind of music they want or are capable of producing because of the almighty buck and the tone-deaf suits’ love of mediocrity.

When Otis started signing “I’ve been loving you”, I fell OUT. Whoo! And the other musicians talking about hearing it for the first time…wow.
And, I love Rufus–that man is a FREAK of the highest order (I mean that with love).
Sidenote: PBS showed Wattstax a while ago–in the dead of the night. But, I was happy to run by it. Why does PBS show the best documentaries in the dead of night!

I watched the doco …
I watched the doco just two days ago, here in the UK. STAX was inspirational, their musicians epitomised SOUL as you could see that they put their very essence into the music they recorded. Thank you Jim Stewart and Estelle Axton for being pioneers and innovators. I still get goosebumps listening to Otis Redding — man what a prolific talent. My mom and Gran were into Isaac Hayes – I know we have the Black Moses original gatefold and the Isaac Hayes Movement album. Soulville forerver!
