Do I need to pay taxes on website advertising income?

Posted by admin on March 6th, 2010 and filed under website advertising | 3 Comments »

The projected income is ~$100. How do I file taxes on this?

By the way, I’m 18 and a dependent.

Let’s go through this one step at a time.

If you are referring to income tax, then read your question to yourself, but slowly.

Get it?

All income, unless specifically excluded, is subject to income tax. As a dependent, you have a standard deduction of $950 or your earned income + $300 up to a maximum of $5,700. You may have at least another $850 of income this year before you worry about taxes.

Do you have expenses for your web site? (hosting fees would be the biggest.) If so, those expenses are subtracted from your $100 to get to your taxable income.

I hope this helps.

How do website hits equate to advertising revenue?

Posted by admin on March 2nd, 2010 and filed under website advertising | 4 Comments »

For example if I have a website that gets 1000 hits per day how much does that equate to in advertising revenue? I understand there is pay per click and pay per view, i am just after an idea of what is possible. Also could i sell the space myself?

Hello,

This is just an EXTREME guess.

But a good "click-through" rate is between 1-3% of your traffic.

So let’s say you have 1000 good visits a day.

2% click on your ads. (20 people)

Each ad is worth $.50. You make $10.

So realistically, depending on your click-through rate and cost per click, you could potentially make anywhere from $5-25 bucks a day.

Good luck!

P.S. (Just a thought) I just published a free book you can find at my website called "How to Start Your Own Online Vending Machine From Scratch In 10 Easy Steps" – it might help you out with starting a site, getting visits, and making money through Pay Per Click

I’m the leader of a restaurant and game park and I need advertisements. I need business cards, brochures, gift cards, signs, posters, and online advertising. I want them either cheap or free. I already got business cards ready. Please try to make it online, like a link instead of a place to go.

how much money can you make from a website through advertising on yor site?

Posted by admin on February 26th, 2010 and filed under website advertising | 2 Comments »

thinking of doing a website taht will email reminders to others I am debating wether or not there will be charge for this service other similar services do not charge they must rely on advertising on thier sites

Receiving advertising dollars online is actually harder than it looks. Depends on how much you are expecting from your site….your site should garner at least 25,000+ unique visitors per month to establish your site as a legit advertising source. Your site could also be picked up by Yahoo or Google to be included in their network to share advertising dollars

Is there a website for Australian actors advertising auditions for actors? I want to become an Actor?

Posted by admin on February 24th, 2010 and filed under website advertising | 1 Comment »

Is there a website for Australian actors advertising auditions for actors? It doesn’t matter if its Television, film or theatre. Any auditioning site or place or info I can get about auditioning?

First off, check out local auditions at theatre.asn.au, or read up on Aussietheatre.com. Artshub.com.au and QuietonSet.com.au have good listings as well, but it costs money to subscribe.

My best advice is to visit the first link, head to the FAQ section, and read about finding agents in Australia, how to find work, etc. There’s heaps of free info there for new actors, and is practically the best place you can find info for emerging actors.

Auditions are hard to find, so you’ll also want to consider finding an agent. If you have little to no experience, do check out classes local to you; there are way too many actors and not enough roles to go around, so if you don’t have experience don’t expect a role on Neighbours.

How much should I charge people for advertising on my website?

Posted by admin on February 20th, 2010 and filed under website advertising | 8 Comments »

Hi,
I never sell advertising from my site. I constantly get people asking, maybe I should start.

My whole site will be redesigned soon. It needs to look a lot better, and the content needs to be updated.

The best thing about my site is that it ranks so high naturally (#1 on google and yahoo for "how to gamble", and other key words.

If I ever did it, I would not put more than 5 or maybe 10 links on the home page.

Maybe, I could charge more for the size of banners?

Is there some kind of appraisal website that specializes in this stuff?

thanks.

As someone that sells online advertising I can tell you this is a tightrope.

The first thing you need to do is make sure you have accurate traffic information on your site. The more historical data you can provide the better. Things you will want to see are…..
1. who are your top refferring sites to your site
2. how many pages does each visitor on your site look at
3. total number of page views per day/month/

My personal opinion on the online gaming industry is it is fairly shady. Not that there are not some reputable companies out there but people will try to take advantage of you if you don’t know what your doing.

This industry will want to force you into an affilliate program where you advertise and only get paid a fee or percentage when clients sign up.

I would recommend that when the companies contact you about ads you either find someone who knows what they are talking about to do the deals for a commission or get some plain english no nonsense contract in place. You should require a quick payment plan and understand that there are a ton of gaming sites so be patient.

Depending on your traffic level you may be able to even sell an exclusive sponsorship to one of the big companies.

Time is not on your side considering that the US Gov is trying to make this illegal.

Some things to consider –
Companies would probably prefer Text links to banners.
If you could offer editorial content on some of the different gaming sites and success stories from gamblers would be great

If you have millions of page views you have room to try things out on 30 or 60 day contracts.

Do whatever you can to get a high google page ranking 8 of 10 or better.

Anyone know any reliable website advertising ?

I’m triying to advertise my website , the prices for google ads keywords have gone way too high. Ive tried some email services and traffic services before and never really had a good success. Im not looking for autosurf junk traffic. Thank You

Social media is the way to go these days. Build profiles on Digg, Mixx, Propeller (there are a ton out there). Be social and interact, make friends with people then slowly but surely start submitting your own links.
