Where can I find Food Network recipes that have expired and are no longer on their website? This is for school

Posted by admin on March 6th, 2010 and filed under website. their | 2 Comments »

I have a French project due on Thursday, and I can’t find the recipe I need because it has expired from the Food Network website. I need the recipe for pommiers from Barefoot Contessa, but all I could find is a disgusting lamb recipe. I searched for "pommiers" on Yahoo, and the links were either incomprehensible or completely off topic. Does anyone know how to find Food Network recipes that have expired and are no longer on their site? I need this recipe by Thursday, and I’m almost to the point of giving up.

Go to the bookstore and search the index of Barefoot Contessa / Ina Garten cookbooks. Copy the recipe from there. That’s what I do anyway. At least you know the author and show. That’s half the battle.

Spybot Search and Destroy won’t install because their website is down. How did they overlook that?

Posted by admin on March 4th, 2010 and filed under website. their | 3 Comments »

How did they not realize that their website isn’t necessarily going to be up 24/7? What’s the point in downloading the installer file to your computer if it needs to connect to a website? Are there any alternatives that realized this was a ridiculous idea and could get rid of this spyware? AdvancedSystemCare won’t do it.

Website is not down.

Me and my friends are trying to get entered into an IABCA dog show but their website seems to have dropped of the earth the last 3 days. Does anyone know if they went out of business or are they just having technical problems?

iabc.com is up and running>

Is it true that websites owners get profit when people visit their website?

I know that websites owners get profit from the adds on their websites but a friend of mine told me that when you visit a website you get the owner a profit!

Is that true?

I work in internet marketing and no, that is not true. You’re absolutely right about the ads though.

Can I find my entire American Express card number on their website through my online account?

Posted by admin on February 26th, 2010 and filed under website. their | 1 Comment »

I want to make a purchase online but I am at work and I left the card at home. I’m in my account right now but it only shows the last 5 digits of my card number. Is there any place on their website that I can get access to the entire number?

For security reasons your entire account number will not be listed on the American Express website.

how can i purchase a fuji film camera off their website?

i go to their website, yet i can’t find anyway to purchase a hot pink FinePix Z20fd. someone please help!

Hi… the FujiFilm website does not accept direct orders. They have their authorized distributors to do the job.

… and even if they do, you can’t buy it. At least not yet. The Z20fd will be available in March 2008 for $199. :p

What kind of software would one use to easily create a user account system for their website?

Posted by admin on February 23rd, 2010 and filed under website. their | 1 Comment »

This would enable users to automatically create an online account on our website and do other stuff with their own personal page and "my account" customization page. Hopefully this program would offer template (pre-made) user accounts which one could customize.

You’ll have to code it in PHP or another server-side script. There are undoubtedly projects similar to what you want, though you’ll probably have to do modifications. See http://php.resourceindex.com/Complete_Scripts/User_Management/ for a start.

If a job posting doesn’t list a phone number but their company website does, is it rude to call it?

Posted by admin on February 20th, 2010 and filed under website. their | 1 Comment »

I want to check on the status of a job application. The job posting site doesn’t have a phone number, only an email. I emailed my application a week ago. However, when I look at the company’s main website, they list a phone number.
I’m not good with business etiquette – is it rude to call seeing that the job posting doesn’t have a number? Or should I call and show that I’m proactive and looked at their website?

I would first email the company again to find out the status of your application. If they don’t respond (say, in 2-3 days), then I would call their number and ask for HR.

Does an employee have a right to object publishing their photo on the company website?

Posted by admin on February 19th, 2010 and filed under website. their | 3 Comments »

A friend of mine, who’s a very private person, does not like sharing his photos with people he doesn’t know. Recently his company put-up staff photos on their Website, including his, without the employer asking him whether he objected to this.

1. Does he have the right to request removing his photo from the site?
2. What would be the most diplomatic way?
Country: USA.

Any links/references to applicable laws also appreciated.

I don’t think its illegal but its unethical. I think the employer should have asked first and not assumed people would want it. he needs to be direct and honest and politely request that his photo be removed.
