    Its not 100% correct that tropical storms are feed by solar heat. They are feeded by the latent energy in the water vapour, which forms due to solar heat.

    To Take on the full storm, you must have had the longest time in the ” EYE”.
    What we call the “Back Half” will have a sudden onset of wind from the Opposite Direction that you went thru as the storm gradually approached.
