Can a previous employer use my name on their website?

A restaurant that let me go several months ago still has me listed as head chef on their website. Do I have any legal standing to get them to take it down?

Yes, you do. It is injurious to your professional reputation to have your name on something that you have no control over.

Have your attorney send them a cease and desist letter.

  3. Yes. They are not legally allowed to make the false claim that you are their chef. It is a form of advertising per se. Write your former employers a letter and request that they either pay you for the use of your name or remove it from their website. If nothing gets done, see an attorney.
