Does an employee have a right to object publishing their photo on the company website?
A friend of mine, who’s a very private person, does not like sharing his photos with people he doesn’t know. Recently his company put-up staff photos on their Website, including his, without the employer asking him whether he objected to this.
1. Does he have the right to request removing his photo from the site?
2. What would be the most diplomatic way?
Country: USA.
Any links/references to applicable laws also appreciated.
I don’t think its illegal but its unethical. I think the employer should have asked first and not assumed people would want it. he needs to be direct and honest and politely request that his photo be removed.

If it’s just a random office picture he can but if it’s like the picture you take to put on your badge then that’s considered company property.

self. @ my old job a lady printed out my picture from our co. website to let her son see what I looked like!! Needless to say I was very irritated
Sure he can ask.
Is he so communications challenged that he can’t figure out how to do that? That is very different from "private".
