I never went to college but my wife attended USC, The haven of all ulitmate college parties. She told my parents they need to let go of her hand and be supportive in letting her find her way or she is not going to make it, but my parents believe that being supportive is to guide to her in the direction they think is right. In a number of cases, the wildest girls and the eventual “paying my way through college” strippers had over bearing parents. There are all kinds of loopholes in what they’re trying to do that your sister could take advantage of.

My parents made her sign a contract agreeing to stay “out of trouble” and told her she has to leave both my parents on her myspace, facebook, and twitter so they know she is not spending “their” money on “foolish partying and such”, otherwise she will be on her own. I told them they need to back off and start being supportive.
