For generations, war and chaos raged across the land of Tyria. Five great races competed and warred against each other, struggling to tip the balance of power in their favor.
Then the dragons woke.
The all-powerful beasts stirred from their millennial sleep under earth and sea. With their magical breath the dragons spread destruction and created legions of twisted slaves. A deathless dragon named Zhaitan raised the sunken nation of Orr, triggering earthquakes and tidal waves that destroyed entire cities across the Sea of Sorrows.
Zhaitan’s undead armies surged from the sea, hungry for the destruction of the five races of Tyria: the charr, a ferocious race of feline warriors; the asura, magical inventors of small size and great intellect; the norn, towering shapeshifters from the frigid northern lands; the sylvari, a mysterious young race of visionary plant folk; and the humans, an embattled but resilient people.
Now heroes from the five races must set aside ancient rivalries and stand together against their common enemies.

The norn are about the only exciting concept I think personally, because they’ll have the ability to at least shapeshift into a Bear so they can “Hulk out”. They’ll probably be among the warrior favorite combinations… them and the Charr.

@andy1298 No. Each race will have a number of classes. So all the respectable classes will remain, but race limitation may be in place. A Charr assassin, depending on how the assassin plays (if they get hide and what not) maybe less likely due to their size.

@2StayFresh Basically with the success of GW the developers wanted to open up more terrain capability as well as giving players the Y axis (jump, swim, etc). So I do hope things will shape the game into something more suitable and expansive. I loved GW but it’s limitations made it less appealing as opposed to WoW or even CoX.

From this trailer, I can see things that I wanted to see in the original game, by the looks of it, You can have Underwater swimming, and also I seen some characters Jumping, which is also good. I am used to playing WoW so jumping is a habit of mine.

@Troo44 How do you know that? They haven’t released a full feature list yet. Unless you are an ArenaNet employee I highly doubt you know what PvE scale gameplay it will and will not have. One thing we know for certain is that they have done away with instancing everything and the towns and overland areas will be non-instanced.

WoW was a first only in that it brought the MMO genre to the attention of the masses with its established franchise (warcraft), easy to learn interface and a graphics engine that was robust and simple enough to run on anything and appeal to anyone.
