Some people care about what a candidate says in addition to what’s being said about him or her.

That’s not ignorance, it’s interest. If we read opinions and statements of people in the media, why shouldn’t we read the opinions and statements of the candidates?

Candidates’ sites might not be objective, but they are a reliable source of what the candidates say.
