How to Create a Website the Right Way For Beginners Part 1

Learn how to create a website the right way using any tools you like and simple CSS to lay the groundwork. I am using Fireworks CS4 and Dreamweaver CS4 to assemble my awesome power site. I can add Flash, graphics, or any other elements I choose to after I get the design shell made.

Is there an advantage/disadvantage to slicing with the canvas size and Export Wizard vs. using the knife tool and Export –> HTML and Images (or CSS and Images)?

Also, and this is killing me, can you slice and export a non-repetitive (or non-gradient) pattern? I’m trying to use metal-turbine with another texture for my background, but I can’t figure out how — or if — I can slice it.

you could also use …
you could also use the knife tool to slice it, or just create slices from objects… saves a little time in my opinion. Good tutorial though
