What good websites are there that give good information on medieval/ancient civilization clothing?

Hello, I want to do some research on clothing that people wore both in the medieval period (Europeans) and/or during the ancient days, like during the kingdoms of babylon, persia, etc. I’ve checked wikipedia, but they don’t show good pictures, and other websites aren’t very informative. Any good websites?

Hi There!

This sounds like an awesome research project. Kinda wish I had something like that when I was in school. I was a history major and I love to attend Medieval faires and all of that fun stuff, so having clothing that looks like what they actually wore back there is important to me. Over the years I have found a site that provides very authentic Medieval and Renaissance era clothing. It is more of a store, so it doesn’t have a ton of information, but it does help to explain what each item is and what it was used for. Or, if you find the name of something on wikipedia, then you can cross reference it with what you find on this site. I put the link in the sources section in case you were interested.

I hope this helps and good luck with your research!
